Stephanie Lloyd-Foxe takes on Executive Role to Champion Safer Homes
NHMF Vice Chair, Stephanie Lloyd-Foxe takes up executive position at the National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group to lead the work of the group in the South West.
Stephanie said “I am passionate about collaboration to achieve safer homes. This group will provide a platform for those working sector wide to come together and discuss some of the challenges and solutions in meeting the requirements of the amended Fire and Building Safety regimes, with the ultimate aim of keeping people safe and will allow the South West to feed in to the national agenda”
We have seen what can be achieved by working together through the success of the NHMF in building relationships at all levels from the NHF, CIH, DLUHC and with exciting research projects such as Oxford Brookes University, to help the sector to continually improve across all areas of asset management. Quite simply given our common aims, it is better together.”
The National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group (NSHFSG) was formed in 2011 and its membership is made up of Social Housing providers across England and Wales, representing 225 member organisations with responsibility for over 2.8 million homes. One of the main aims of the group is to establish and impact on national policy in relation to fire safety in our communities.
The group was formed as a result of the sector needing to shape the way fire safety is managed within the Social Housing sector following the devastating effects of Lakanal House and other similar events.
The group is sector led through regional strategy groups led by social housing providers. Local issues and good practice are shared and discussed with the aim of feeding into the national agenda and improving fire safety within our communities.
A one day conference to relaunch the group is being held on 12 September 2023 at Sandy Park in Exeter, in conjunction with Homes for South West Fire Safety Action Group and HAMMAR South West, itself a regional group feeding in to the NHMF and will include presentations and panel discussions from a range of exceptional speakers along with exhibitors from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Aico, T2 Digital, Ventro and our main headline sponsor TCW.
