Louise King

Research Associate, Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations

Dr Louise King is an environmental social scientist at the University of Bath specialising in socio-technical and environmental transitions. Her work has a strong interdisciplinary focus and previous research has centred on patterns of consumption and building energy performance, social practices, energy policy and governance, energy visualisation and green infrastructure. Her recent work within the EPSRC-funded Flex-Cool-Store project concentrated on experiences, perceptions and policy around overheating and cooling in UK homes. Within the Transforming Homes team, Louise focuses on issues of stakeholder engagement and wider policy and governance within retrofit. Methodologically, she is a qualitative researcher using visual, deliberative, and place-based methods to engage publics and professionals with these issues and their implications for everyday life and work.
